Walls and detention Camps are a reality for millions in communities throughout Southern California. Others continue to believe that the beaches have witnessed only one kind of culture, dominated by sun tanned surfers and the myths of Hollywood.  Instead, in Southern California and particularly in Venice Beach we have a history that walks in the footsteps of powerful maritime cultures diverse protagonists culture funk and history.

 

Dream dreamer DACA

Americans are united in support of legislation that would offer a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers—undocumented immigrants who came to the United States years ago as children. Yet despite attempts to pass the Dream Act since its first introduction in 2001such a bill has never been signed into law.

 

When introduced the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019 was meant to offer a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers and other immigrants. An estimated 2.5 million immigrants could be permanently protected under the bill.
