Northern White Rhino and the Kayapo meet in the Mojave; Intercontinental brethren

In 2018 the last male Northern White Rhino died. The species faces extinction, only 2 females white rhinos are left. The Kayapo people also face extinction as the present leader of Brazil unleashes a war against the tribes of the Amazon, claiming that native people on reservations are like animals in a zoo, as he opens up vast tracts of territory to mining and petroleum interests. The destiny of the Kayapo is intimately intertwined with ours us as global climate change and human folly affect the Amazon region considered the "lungs of the earth". The Mojave desert, with unique species and ecosystems is endangered by climate change and human encroachment. #climatechange #Kayapo #Mojave #Rhino
